My perfume love ♡

This year I got this perfume as a 30th birthday present from my Husband in February.

And I just love it. Its not too sweet or too musky it’s quite light and the bottle is gorgeous for those who like to collect perfume bottles.

I picked up the small gold purse size in a set of 3 for €75 in boots.

New Mammy’s – Gifts To Shower Her In 🌹

So my beautiful friend Serena was  pregnant for what felt like forever. She found out she was expecting after our wedding weekend celebrations.

I decided that when the baby was born I would make her a pamper hamper. She had a beautiful Baby Boy and called him Ryan which I am delighted as that is my maiden name. She is now a Mam of 4 kids and she has been running around the past 10 years after her family of now 4. So she is long overdue a pampering basket.

Firstly I picked up some cute baskets in Penney’s they do 2packs of these yearly in a vary of different prints.I thought the grey polka dot was cute.

I decided I would fill it with items just for her and with the theme of relaxation. Having a newborn means she will be pretty restricted to the house for awhile. I made sure the items could be used for when she had a spare half hour to herself which in hindsight is rare.

For a Bubble Bath – I added the things I think make a bubble bath relaxing

Lily Candle Holder 🌸 & Do Not Disturb Sign for for that well needed bubble bath in peace.

Yankee Candle Strawberry Shortcake 🍓

So the bathroom smells divine & like a spa retreat 🍓

Radox muscle soak

to pour into a hot bath which is great for soaking your tired muscles in!

Lavender Bath salts & Lavender soap – Which are great before bed as it helps you sleep.

Body Lotion – to lather your skin in & hydrate !

For the Hair – Hair Mask & Argan Hair Oil, Every pregnancy can take its toll on your hair & a lot of ladies loose some too so this is a nice treatment to help repair the hair!

Foot mask & Face Mask – This foot mask is great as it rids your feet of any dead skin and the face masks rejuvenates your skin.

Vitamin E sleep in mask – I adore this my all time fav as you can leave it in over night & Vitamin E is amazing for skin!

Body Salt Scrub & Hand Cream – Its smells amazing not only that the sugar scrub gets rids the skin of dead skin and those dry skin bumps at the back of your arms that we all hate!

I think its always important to remember when any woman gives birth that she has put her mind body & soul through alot and people tend to buy for the baby and forget the new mother. So its always nice to spoil & pamper them too ❤

Aftersun Skincare Tried & Tested.. Vaseline Moisturiser

So I am just back from holidays and my skin is so dry because our lovely Irish weather has a mild breeze. I’m quite sallow skinned naturally but I find living in Ireland in winter my skin gets very dry due to the lack of Sun! Im very sensitive to perfumed products too.

This moisturiser from Vaseline happens to be the only moisturiser that keeps my skin constantly moisturised it’s quick drying , but luxurious and feels soft on the skin. Even after 24hrs my skin hadn’t dried out it also has kept my tan from peeling.

Birthday Gift – Ladies say Hello to GlossyBox 💋

Sooo for my Birthday this February my Husband asked me what I would like as my gift. We only got married a few months ago and he has more than spoiled me with thoughtful gifts throughout the year plus Valentine’s Day is 8 days prior to my Birthday (which for him is horrible as he feels he runs out of gift idea’s and I feel bad for him). I love to travel so I said once we go away for a few days I’d be happy with that but he still wanted to hand me a gift so I couldn’t think of anything I wanted or needed until I thought of GlossyBox Gift Subscription

Being a Piscean of course means I ❤ to try new things as same routines bore the living daylights out of me:) so if your the same or know someone like this you have found the Perfect Gift!

They send you a starter kit to Welcome you which I think is fab this kit had a pretty black bow on the outside once opened it revealed :

Click here to see How It Works !

What is even more amazing rather than giving one gift to your loved one you can choose a 3month 6month or 12 month subscription which means they will receive a pretty pink parcel each month with beautiful gifts inside.
Who doesn’t like to pampered every month. I love that you do not know what your getting so it’s always a suprise!

My March box came very quickly too and I was delighted to find a highlighter brush, highlighter, shampoo & conditoner some Hey Honey face serum and Olay moisturiser Which are my favourites my skin is loving those two so much so I decided to order them. They are so gentle on my skin and super luxurious so it feels like you have spent a evening at the spa 🌸

What I love more is the pretty pink boxes can be upcycled and re-used to store some photo’s,make-up or even to put gifts in. My little brother robbed one to send his girlfriend in Germany a gift (Which I’m sure is a lot nicer than any mans gift wrapping skills 😛)

So go on and treat yourself, drop hints to your man for a upcoming birthday or spoil yourself or a friend either way you won’t be dissapointed 💋

What scent I’m loving right now ..By Zara ❤

This is my favourite scent ❤ at the moment. It was given to me by my Mother-in-Law she is a big Zara lover and I’m forever commenting on her perfumes. I can’t get enough of it. It’s Called Zara Femme and Its so cheap retailing at €10.99 and can be found at the cash points in most Zara Zara stores they have a few scents.

It comes in a Cream linen style presentation box and the packaging itself is quite glamourous with a modern twist and gold lid.. the bottle itself is very pretty! And it smells absolutely divine I would definitely recommend getting yourself to Zara for a bottle 🙂

Bourjois French Manicure Kit

image I recently tried this French Manicure kit from Bourjois. I have been a huge fan of their products since I was a teenager. So I was excited to see this kit having tried other brands on the market this kit was by far the best! It is €14.99 The Kit comes with a top coat, white coat and pink polish. The brushes in the kit are angled perfectly to get a clean line and they don’t pick up too much polish so there’s no sloppy excess to remove they are designed to perfection. I was easily able to build up the coats and they dried fast. In the past when using other manicure kits I found they smudged and took too long to dry. I got my nails done with no mess and they lasted for days without chipping a lot of people admired them assuming I had them done at a salon. 💅

Winter skincare ♥

So winter is finally upon us! Which in Ireland means harsh Antarctic breeze brrr. We can curse global warming for that one. So now is the perfect time to focus on getting our skin ready for the spring/summer months which for many people means a little more Vitamin D on those black under-eye bags, more fresh air and real daylight.
image I have noticed this winter that the harsher weather has played havoc with many women’s skin.I myself have noticed a lot more dryness and breakouts than I’d usually see and upon having a discussion with a few women to decide where this problem stems from. There are many factors to consider: 1.Strong lighting in the home/workplace. 2. Central heating. (Heating in your car) 3. Mobile phone ( yes ladies it carry’s  a lot of bad bacteria ) 4.The makeup/ moisturizer you’re using. 5. Makeup brushes. 6. Pillowcases. 7. Face washes. 8.Your Diet 9. Skincare Regime Strong Lighting image Believe it or not if your home or workplace have strong spotlights or l.e.d lighting, it can cause your skin a lot of problems especially if the bulbs are changed regularly as they are more powerful. Your makeup is constantly sweating into your pores and drying out your skin. This lighting can also effect your eyesight & cause severe migraines. Top Tip: Wear a tinted moisturizer that’s light on your skin allowing it to breath instead of a heavy full coverage foundation , some heavy foundations can actually cause over sized pores. Make sure to drink plenty of water & during your shift to get as much fresh air on your breaks as possible. Central Heating Us Irish have a habit of sticking the car heating on full whack even if we feel a little breeze on our skin. I don’t like heating on in the car unless the car has been at stand still for hours and is cold. In that case would put heating on for half hour max to heat the car up but turn it off then. Reason being heating while travelling actually makes me feel sleepy and the dust that car heaters absorb isn’t good for your lungs or your skin as it collects bacteria. Heating/Air con in the work place does the same as it is a fake heat by gas or a machine there is a low-level of oxygen in the air therefore your skin is drying out more..notice the difference growing up every Irish household had a coal fire and it wasn’t a dead heat as there was still oxygen in the room our skin was fine today we rely on central heating/air con and a lot more people are complaining of oily ness /dryness in areas in their skin. Top tip: Open your bedroom window while Your out to allow oxygen into your room and same in the car if you are going to put heating on open window after to allow a level of fresh air to purify the air. Mobile Phones image Mobile phones or household phones carry and unbelievable amount of bacteria think of the amount of people who have used the phone before you and your resting your ear, face and mouth against this ..yuck right ? Top Tip: Your mobile gets makeup lodged in it too so I’d suggest you carry anti-bacterial wipes and use them sparingly to try keep rid of germs and save your face from breaking out because of these hidden germs. Makeup / Moisturizer image I find a lot of Irish girls don’t really know what foundation is for and how you should wear foundation. It is not a mask to make you look like someone else it is in fact to enhance you natural beauty if it doesn’t blend in it’s not for you simple. I know we’ve all done it thought we knew how to apply and pick our own foundation colour but truth is any good makeup artist will tell you the truth it should blend in & it is only meant to be used to even out your skin tone and complement your natural beauty. I hate seeing girls with such heavy foundations on their skin as it destroys your skin & also makes you look like you have been to a face painting class, which is not a good look trust me :o) I’d recommend girls to invest in good brands like Armani, Clinque & Clairns who are well know skin specialists and specialise in skin care first then makeup after all look at the french and Italian ladies skin its to die for fresh-faced and nice complexions is the look. If you want a cost-effective moisturizer a good natural Aloe Vera is just as good its great for the skin and works wonders on rashes, break outs and sunburn or scars. Top-Tip: Swap your foundation for a BB cream its light and more natural on your skin and has a SPF so protects it too and I’d recommend booking into see a skin care specialist on a makeup house like Clinque and Clairns and getting coloured matched with a specialist. Make-up Brushes brush-holder-4 Make-up brushes carry a lot of hidden bacteria and when you think of these think of carrying a sweeping brush every were with you and then using it to apply your make-up to your face.. Gross right ? Well that’s exactly what you’re doing every time you put a brush near your skin. You should clean your brushes nearly every time you use them especially Foundation ,Eye-shadow and Blusher brushes as you use these constantly on your skin and they can cause break outs and infections and acne. And carry so much bacteria. Most Makeup companies sell their own version of a makeup cleaner but I find these can be expensive if you add it to your shopping list every time you run out. Top-Tip :There are cheaper alternatives on the market like visiting your local chemist and getting a bottle or you could use luke warm water and a gentle baby shampoo to clean them Here’s the D.I.y way to deep clean your makeup brushes… You will need: • A shallow bowl • Gentle clarifying shampoo or baby shampoo • Your sink • A lint free cloth Instructions:

  1. Begin by running your brushes under luke warm water, rinsing out all of the residual makeup. Try to focus on the actual bristles while avoiding the part of the brush where handle meets the head, as this can loosen the glue over time
  2. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and a squirt of shampoo, and gently swirl your brush tip in the water. If you need to, you can also swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to work up a lather.
  3. Rinse the brush tip under running water once again. Repeat steps two and three until the water runs clear from the brush,
  4. Use a cloth to wipe your brush clean, reshaping the bristles as you go.
  5. Lay your brushes flat on a cloth to dry.

And there you have it! Your makeup brushes will be as clean a whistle. It’s also worth mentioning that there are specially formulated brush shampoos on the market. A gentle clarifying or baby shampoo will do the trick just fine though. Pillowcases balmoral-housewife-pillowcases-pink-0 This is something people don’t realise your pillowcase carry’s a lot of bacteria not only grease from your hair, the residue from hair products or makeup you thought you removed   but dust and germs also. If you’re noticing regular breakouts on your jaw line it could be from not changing your bedclothes enough as they seem to carry all the things we don’t want so flip your pillow over regularly and change weekly as it can carry a lot of bad germs. Top-Tip: Skin care specialists also recommend buying silk pillow cases as it stops the skin wrinkling and keeps you youthful ..well so they say !

Face Washes young-lady-splashing-water-on-face-washing-face_article_new Some face washes on the market are now made of salt/scrub like exfoliators that aim to get rid of black heads, thing is the skin can clear it self naturally without the help of these face washes. If you must exfoliate only exfoliate really dry dead skin once a week and try stay clear of these scrubs as they are quiet harsh on the skin and are damaging the surface of the skin. They can cause more breakouts or dryness to the skin. When Cleansing the face a good face cloth is just as good and natural remember to wash with luke warm water and splash the face with cold when finished to close the pores. Top-Tip: Also a home-made natural remedy are just as good,my favourite is Honey Scrub its Cheap and more nurturing than some of the chemical enhanced scrubs on the market. “This simple, rejuvenating facial scrub harnesses the full healing power of honey. Honey has the properties that can kill harmful bacteria that live on your skin, and cause blemishes and infections. It’s also rich with Vitamin B, that can prevent your skin from becoming scaly and irritated” – Honey Crafting Ingredients

    • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
    • 1 cup Honey
    • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
    • 2-3 drops of your favorite Essential Oil*
  • 1 pint Jar with lid
  • Large bowl

  1. In a large bowl, briskly mix together the sugar, honey, and oils until fully blended.
  2. refrigerate in a tightly covered jar.

*I used a mix of lavender and Tea Tree oil for their antibacterial and soothing qualities.

Diet diet1 And above all your diet is 100% responsible for the type skin you have growing up my Mother rarely bought me sweets as a child only as a treat she also insured I had a healthy lunch. Which always consisted of  salad, meat, and to go with one piece of fruit and bottle of water or milk, same as her dinners it was always fresh vegetables and some form of fresh meat. We never had processed foods or the foods that are now become a phase and a daily occurrence to many households. It’s true they say ” you are what you eat ” if you drink plenty water and eat fruits and vegetables those nutrients will benefit your skin and over all well-being. Try drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day and some form of fruit or vegetable as your skin will thank you in years to come. Top-Tip: Cut out the caffeine and swap for a healthier berry or green tea. Or my favourite home-made detox tea cut up some lemon slices add to cup of hot water drink first thing in the morning or evening as it helps rid the body of bad toxins and speed up metabolism and its a nice source of Vitamin C too. Skin Care Regime

So this winter my top 3 Skin-care must haves have a valid input into my skin care regime, here they are.. image 1. Clinque Take the day off makeup remover Great for removing eye-shadow, lipstick and tricky mascara. 2. Clairns Cleansing Milk. Lather this on skin leave for a few minutes then remove makeup with a cotton pad. 3. Clairns Hydraquench serum & moisturizer. Put serum on first and follow with a dab of moisturizer on clean skin really hydrates the skin as some cleansers can dry out your skin. And remember always remove your makeup with the proper cleansers and moisture your skin needs nurturing to try these products out and in a month or two notice the difference in your skin. Hope you enjoy my home-made remedy’s and let me know how you gt on trying them 🙂 Elizabeth ♥
