The BEST All Day Pancakes Ever @ The Copper Kettle ☕

It’s so hard to find Gluten free products let alone a cafe that serves all day breakfast. This little gem of a coffee shop does both and to top it is very affordable. Based in the little quaint village of Rathcoole.

For €6.50 you will get a plate of Maple Pancakes with bacon & a big pot of tea at The Copper Kettle.  There was so much I couldn’t finish all the pancakes but they were absaloutly amazing!

Definately worth paying them a visit!

Dunmore East,Waterford – Bank Holiday Getaway

I can’t believe we are already into August. In Ireland its our bank holiday weekend the 1st weekend. I was working one day on one day off the weekend so didn’t really feel like I had a long weekend. My Husband’s Aunt Serena invited us down to Dunmore East in Waterford for the Bank Holiday weekend. His Grandmother is from this little fishing harbour so it’s a tradition to go every year. As I couldn’t make 2nights we drove down Sunday  to stay for one night when I finished work.

We arrived about 8.40pm so the drive only took us less than 2hours from Dublin via N7. It was warm and still bright so we checked into our hotel. We stayed at The Three Sisters literally 5mins away from the Harbour. Dunmore is a old fishing harbour so it’s all uphill & quaint.

We then met his aunt for dinner at The Haven hotel its a gorgeous georgian style hotel with big bay windows with a view overlooking  the ocean. I had Prawn coctail for my dinner with gluten free toasted bread & a side of mushy peas.  Random I know, but I was limited to gluten free options,I also had a glass of wine. For desert  Eaton mess & tea of course. He had a Beef Burger with side of Chips & a few beers . For desert toffee pudding  our meal cost €52 which was pretty reasonable priced.

We then walked up hill to a little pub called Powers and had a few drinks there. Its a small fishermans pub and very homely feel to it. We then walked down to The Strand Inn and stayed there for the rest of the evening. It is quite lively and has a late bar too.

                         Monday :

We woke about 11am showered because we missed breakfast we walked down to The Strand Inn for Lunch it was raining non stop which is to be expected when by the sea but we didnt allow that to ruin our plans.

We stopped on the way at The Fishermans hall the place his Grandparents 1st met at a dance he was a soldier and from Wexford and she was from a Farming Family in the harbour. I think it’s cool that this building is still being used in the town.

          Lunch at The Strand Inn

We went for lunch at The Strand Inn its literally overlooking the bay and very cosy. We both had open prawn sandwhiches which were amazing and sat watching the rain beat down on the Inn.

                Where To Stay:

Dunmore East is full of B&B’s and small boutique style hotels as the harbour attracts a lot of vistors you are best to book in advance at peak season.

My top 3 would be as follows.

    The Haven Hotel

    The Strand Inn

    The Three Sisters

Hope you all had a great weekend 🌹

Healthy Lunches – When On The Go !

I think these are great little pots to keep you healthy while on the go €2.65 a pot. Starbucks know how to keep you fueled with great protein & vitamin intake. It can be hard to find healthy treats at coffee shops. So this makes me pretty happy when I can grab one of these little beautys 🙌

         Egg Chicken & Spinach Pot
Blueberries & Red Grapes Fruit Pot

                      Salad Bowls

They also do some great salad options in Chicken & Salmon which for me is a great range of Gluten Free option!

Today I picked up the Hot Smoked Salmon & Greens Salad €5.95 !

It tasted amazing and I love the fact you can opt to not use dressing etc speaking to staff they told me it comes in fresh every morning and is also made in the same area which is nice to hear.

Now don’t forget to go grab one :)If you have any tips on great healthy options at your favourite cafe let me know !

Saturday Well Spent – In Dublin’s Fair City

Oh how I love a well spent Saturday. Yesterday was my day off & Graham’s Birthday gift was for Saturday night. So I made sure to get a great night sleep the night before. Friday  Night – I pampered myself the minute I got in from work I will blog post on my new fav products to have a pamper night with. Lit a few candles watched a movie. I also made sure to drink lots of water. I woke up feeling so refreshed and made a healthy breakfast to kickstart the day. I’ve recently gotten a fringe & it’s hard work to keep it at bay with my thick hair.

                 Lunch at GBK

Concert : Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Live at 3Arena!

We then went to the 3Arena or as I still call it it’s orginal name The Point to see Macklemore live! I bought tickets for my hubbie in November for his birthday.
We were pretty early so we got  to see the support acts and I was delighted with our seats front row on the balcony and we could see absaloutly everything it was unreal. By far the best concert I have ever been to given the fact he has Irish relatives, he was certainly made very welcome the balcony at one point was shaking😂 and I wouldn’t mind I’m not the fan the hubbie is I think that’s why I loved it even more☺

McGettigan Grill and Cookhouse – Kingswood Hotel Citywest

Today my Husband & I went for some dinner in the newly furbished and new restaurant McGettigans CookHouse & Grill . Ironically enough we had our engagement party here 3years ago pre- cookhouse and I was blown away by the transformation.

image

The cookhouse has two entrances and it is full of light with huge windows allowing natural sunlight to flow throughout it has a rustic farm house feel to it with lots of brickwork, wood and metal and copper lighting throughout.

image

image

There is a lovely landscaped garden which would be beautiful on a summers day to sit out in. Today was rainy (typical in Ireland) But none the less it made it more cosy to be inside watching rain fall.

image

We went for the 2 course meal option, Which is either starter/main course or main course/desert for €21.95

For The Man
Chicken Wings for starter
Pan seared Nicos tuna salad it was full of goodness with boiled egg, olives and a ray of protein.
For The Lady
I obviously ate some wings 😉
Grilled chicken burger (bunless)
Chocalate mousse for desert it was lovely & all Gluten Free!

The waitress Susan was so polite, very helpful and lovely to talk to. We would definately return we heard the bar man Connor makes a mean coctail the weekends 🍸

Looking to eat out in Dublin Click on the link in the post for the address & location. You won’t be dissapointed.

Delicious Dinner at The Blazin Grill 🍴🍷

So I really love finding restaurants who make amazing healthy dishes, especially that I have intolerance’s to foods that other people can eat without the problems I am subjected to.

Saturday night myself, Mam and my two little brother’s girlfriend’s all headed out for a girl’s night out to a restaurant called The Blazin’ Grill in Dublin 24. The restaurant itself is spacious with comfortable boots and can hold large party’s. It is surrounded by glass windows that stretch the whole length of the restaurant which brings in a lot of light too. It’s very cosy but trendy too.

image

They do a great deal on their menu, you can order a three course for €22.95 which is great value. I opted for the healthy option I always try eat foods that benefit my gut health
and not disrupt my intolerance. They do a lot of gluten free based dishes which is amazing!

Starters

image

I had Salmon roulade on a bed of rocket salad, sliced beetroot and seasoned with green pesto and pumpkin seeds.

Mains

image

I had Jamacian Jerk Chicken which I first tasted in Domician Republic and fell in love with this dish it’s so light and tasty. For an Irish restaurant to do it and almost match a 5star hotel I was amazed how nice it was. It was on a bed of pilo potatoes, sundries tomatoes and red pesto with coleslaw .

Desert

image

I had passionfruit and Mango ice cream cheescake which was so tasty and light.
I also had a sneaky glass of wine the house Sauvigan Blanc.
Overall I felt fine after eating. Was so light and refreshing dishes to eat would defo going recommend paying them a visit. The Blazin Grill

Presentation was superb overall 10/10 for service and food.
