I love unique items so when our wine bottle opener broke.I was in the market for a new one to buy.

It’s pretty strong too & will make a great accessory to our future bar cart project!

Retro Home Dècor Finds

Those little trinkets that bring joy!♡

Anyone who knows me knows I love love anything vintage and unique. I adore pieces that catch your eye by being different and not just your typical household  item. As Konmari teaches everything must spark joy in your life. And if you don’t know who this woman is you need to get her teachings into your life asap!

                      Marie Kondo

So I squeeled when I found these to pieces lately both have significant memorys behind them for me.

First up is the Scottish Terrier Coat Hanger this screams my Dad he is a well known dog breeder, homer and lover of all things dog & animal related people refer to him as the dog whisperer. I bought this for my Dad * & also for myself so I would be reminded of that love I have for dogs because of him. I can’t wait to see his face when he opens it as it is so made for him.

                    Scottie Door Hook

I love partys and throwing them but more importantly my favourite holiday was to the carribean with my husband and this just reminds me of all of those combined. I’m also a big fan of art deco pieces and currently trying to collect pieces to make my own bar cart with and this bottle opener will be just the icing on the cake on the cart.

                 Parrot Bottle Opener

Both were on sale at Marks & Spencers at only €6.25 each! I would suggest popping into the store as they are sold out online at the moment.

Penney’s Christmas Decor 🍭🌲

image

So Christmas feels like its hitting us a little early this year with all retailers fully stocked and ready for the festive season. I used to think this was crazy but with our current economic climate I do think it’s great for people to get ready and in advance it helps beat the  Christmas rush & allows people to. So I recently picked up these fab little pieces in Primark and I am loving the fact they are super affordable too!

image

These ribbons come in gorgeous  colours grey, gold etc but I love this style reminds me of the candy cane design.

image

There are lots of Wreaths to choose from but I love this pine cone heart-shaped wreath simply because it reminds me of nature and outdoors & adds a character to your typical Christmas wreaths.

image

Fairy lights dress up rooms and can be used to make a room more cosy & intimate I plan on hanging these either above the fire-place or on the wall that the main sofa sits against.
The wreath holder is great stress free way of hanging your wreath from your front door without  it falling off they also come in red.
Jingle all the way trinket this is so cute and I’ll more than likely hang it on a door handle

image

Peg card holder – great for keeping your cards  neat and organised I’ll hang this above the stove

image

Sticker labels are a great easy & effective way to label your gifts I prefer these to the carded labels. As you simply won’t have time to write notes and sellotape them to each gift the simple To & From keeps it short and simple.

image

I also picked up some small baubles as I want to make a D.I.Y shadow box will post more on that at a later date! And the floor mat is a cute way to have a festive mat at your hall door,
Have you started your holiday decoration shopping or gift planning if so how do you get organised ? Feel free to leave your own tips below 🙂

Home Interiors Inspiration for Summer

So this beautiful summery July, makes you realise how everything looks in the summer light and I love some interiors inspiration these are my favourites. They aren’t fussy and easy to do with the right accessories.

Blooms

incorporate some fresh flowers to your dining table if you grow your own in your garden you can use those or even artificial ones that you know will keep. I think there very beautiful and romantic at a table setting.

Dream wardrobe

image

If you have a small room or don’t like the look of a bulky wardrobe (like me) this can be perfect for you. Floating shelfs for extra storage. One length rail to stretch the whole way across the wall to give a continuous look. Also it’s great to be able to see your clothes and colour co-ordination is a must. I have all my wardrobe sectioned in style. Casual Dressy and colour co-ordinate. Use the shelfs for accessories clutches, handbags, belts etc. A full length mirror is also a must and hanging it on the wall gives you better distance especially if wearing a long dress or wanting to see your shoes. Always remember to paint these room in crisp colours white, nude,or light beige as it brings lots of light and keeps the room looking fresh.

Vintage Boudoir

bedroom-country-Ideal-Home4

Use your bedroom space wisely by bringing some french inspiration to it. Boudoir is a french term for a lady’s private dressing room. Use Lace on the walls and  vintage hooks to display your jewellery, Mannequins are great for piecing together your daily outfits. Drape lace from your windows as light curtains. Strip the floors to show the floorboards in their natural state and give them a wash of white paint not only does it widen the room but its a great excuse to bring more light to the room. Textures add lots of character so mix it up using different textiles recycle throws by cutting them up for a nice soft rug or make cushion covers. Your room should be clutter and gadget free especially if you want to get a peaceful nights sleep. Use trinket boxes to store away any items that you don’t use on a daily basis.

Cosy Sitting Room

image

I love the feeling of getting lost in a movie cuddled up on the sofa while switched off from the world, especially in the summer evenings. You don’t want heavy colours or drapery so to let the room breathe stick to light pastels incorporate this by adding cushions, candles or a light throw in all these colours.  Using Metallic’s like the clock & candelabra bring vintage elegance and the wood brings warmth and rustic feel to make it that more homely.

Valentine’s Love that lingers ❤

I love this gorgeous pillow my Fiancè got me as one of my Valentine’s gifts. I know it’s the summer but I love how it still reminds me of him. I told him not to waste his money on flowers and instead he picked me up a few beautiful sentimental pieces.. one of them was this fab LOVE cushion.

How retro is my card..? I’m a Mason Jars lover and love finding ways to incorporate Mason Jars into the home. So this was a cute touch as he knows what I like. Have you any gifts that are treasured in your household ?
